"One day, he and I found ourselves at a party and we were having fun cracking nuts with our heads. Until I split my forehead open and he was dying of laughter."

During this interview, the former Olympique de Marseille defender also revealed that Real Madrid had come to inquire about a potential transfer while he was playing at Valencia.

"Real Madrid came to discuss my transfer. I wasn't aware of it at first, and when they told me about it, I was really happy. But Valencia said, 'Not this year.' It was im-po-ssible for the club. They said, 'One more year and then we'll negotiate.'" In the end, it didn't happen.
